  Gregory started "Fishing" in 2002 and called it finished in 2026, which means this small painting has been in the studio through all of it: the good years, the hard ones, the shifts in his practice, the evolution of his eye. You can feel that on the surface. Burnt orange and cool grey with blue drips running vertical, the whole thing tilted slightly off-balance.
