Artwork Details

Full Description

New Galaxies is a kinetic, high-texture abstraction that merges cosmic movement with Gregory’s signature urban glyphs. Electric blues, violet fields, and arcs of white converge in a central burst, creating the sensation of a star-forming event or spiritual rupture. Black linework suggests city grids or scaffolding, while gold lines thread through like constellations.

The painting balances chaos and control—a collision of “street” and “sky.” It reflects Gregory’s ongoing exploration of portals, diaspora, memory, and the psychological spaces tied to Black abstraction in the Midwest. The layering, splatter, and architectural marks open a conversation between internal and external worlds, inviting viewers into a moment of expansion, impact, and awakening.
