“Electro- Red Blotters”
"Electro- Red Blotters"
by Gregory J. Rose
2025, Mixed Media On Panel, 24“x24”
A dense, high-frequency abstraction composed of overlapping grids, saturated color fields, and charged linear interference that registers memory, rupture, and transmission at peak intensity. Exhibited in the Dauntless Indignant Geography Solo Exhibition at NE SCULPTURE | Gallery Factory. Unframed. Certificate of Authenticity included.
Collector Snapshot
Electro-Red Blotters functions as the culmination of the Polyptych. Inspired by the koan, “Can the eye capture every star at night?”, this work confronts saturation rather than absence. Nothing is missing. Everything is present.
The surface operates as a field of transmission. Signals overlap. Colors collide. Marks stack without hierarchy. Reds, blues, greens, and whites move across the panel in compressed layers, creating visual noise that mirrors the experience of holding too much information at once. Memory, emotion, and inherited knowledge arrive simultaneously, refusing to resolve into a single narrative.
As the final work in the Polyptych, Electro-Red Blotters represents the point where endurance becomes overload and clarity emerges through accumulation rather than separation. For collectors, this piece anchors the Polyptych with maximal energy and conceptual density, completing the arc from emergence to saturation.

Artwork Details
Inspired by the Koan:
“Can the eye capture every star at night?”
He’s so strong, and resilient. Why have you traveled so far from home?
Is it a thrown or skipped stone?
95,96, 98 2000-2001.
He rebooted the system drive in the snow.
Can’t you hear the soft crunch of footsteps head to devour
Hot salad.
He functions best when he wakes during Ambrosia hour.
Fucking salad again, as he spent his last coin on his anointments into fatherhood.
Where he dreamed of Fireflies and Fairies dancing upon the child’s face.
As they dreamed of far-off lands, they would someday explore.
He abhors the fact he’s not back in the junk lots and alleyways with broken glass
like next to mom’s apartment and Am Vets.
Vets on the block fighting the demons from the past spat overseas.
Little man don’t get caught up in this shit.
You smart and got a good heart.
There’s no glory while they watch you fall apart.
So let the phoenix rise young ram.
Stand, stand, stand tall and face up.
Look everyone in the eyes.
That’s how you survive.
And survive he did, but at what expense?
Like Fences- it was fear that his dad struggled to express.
So—he’s like a war-torn Vet with no war to point to overseas.
He looks in the mirror every day and all that he mutters.
It’s Me.
Take that next step, take that leap into the abyss.
His DNA is stardust and his
Angels are pissed.
Full Description
Electro-Red Blotters is built from densely layered grids, gestural markings, and saturated color passages that generate constant visual interference. Reds and blues surge across the surface, interrupted by whites, greens, and black linear forms that fracture continuity and reassemble it elsewhere.
The composition resists rest. Marks overlap without settling. Color fields push against one another, creating a sense of electrical charge and visual overload. The painting reads as a transmission map rather than a destination, documenting what happens when information, memory, and emotion arrive faster than they can be processed.

Price Growth of Mixed Media Works
“Electro-Red Blotters frames saturation as revelation.
By layering signal upon signal, the work asks the viewer to confront accumulation without resolution. As the final panel of the Polyptych, it completes the arc from emergence to overload, offering clarity through density rather than silence.”
